As a child, it always seemed quite natural to hear voices within you and you talked to animals and insects with long conversations that were strictly between you. When the world upset you or ignored you, there was always comfort from the voices within and they were always gentle loving and kind. As a child you accepted them for they were part of you, and you knew the trees and flowers whispered back to you.
But then you reach the middle years and civilisation, with all the materialistic things that go with it, all the bright baubles of civilisation that turn to ashes when you have them, just add to the weight you are carrying on your journey.
Then someday you pull up to take stock. Is this all that life is? Am I like the lowly ant, just destined to follow the one in front? What have I accrued a lot of money, a comfortable lifestyle? Have I many friends or just a few acquaintances? Would I leave a gap in anyones life or would they remember anything I have said?
This is the time you seriously talk to your inner self, for it is the voice of reason and common sense. As grown-ups we call this meditating, for the inner voice comes from our Creator, who does not tell you what to do because you have a free mind, but helps you to reason things out for yourself.
What a wonderful feeling to know that everything is given in love. All you ask for can come to you, but choose wisely for our Creator is wise and knows what you really want. He also knows what you can give for a loving heart is the greatest gift of all, and grows with giving.
