When we were being educated in the years gone by, and looking at
the world with pure minds and hearts, so many things were
awesomely beautiful. It seems the old saying “ignorance
is bliss” was the word of the day. Only in memories
can we live out those daydreams and fantastic stories.
But is it just ignorance, or is it memories of another world? Can our mortal souls rest between their terms on this earth? Is it possible each morning as we wake to switch on light and heat, turn on taps? How would we be if we had to walk to the river and gather wood to light a fire
But how many of us are content and remember to offer a prayer of thanks for all these gifts, or do we count the cost of all these things? All the possessions and comforts of civilisation, not only cost to us but this beautiful world - the pollution and the draining of all the resources that the earth gives to us. Or are we getting like robots with all things being technical, even us, that all feelings can be drained away and we walk through this life without seeing anything.
Are we as the people who travel to see the world, take pills for travel sickness so they sleep and miss everything, like the watchers who did not put oil in their lamps so walked in darkness when they could look up and see the light of the world, forever there, waiting with a helping hand for the biggest obstacles?
And when you feel the glow of that heavenly light and know the silence of inner self, and feel the force of the Creator’s love, don’t let it fall on stony ground and die. Nurture it and give it to others. And each time you give it will grow, and heaven will ring with saintly music. God Bless.
